About Me

Born in Toledo, OH in 1968. Ate a lot of Mexican food as a child but never a Mexican.

Childhood favorites:

• Restaurant: Carmel's Mexican Restaurant on Tremainsville over Loma Linda. Ok, ok...I was a KID! I really liked the fountain and colored lights, oh, and the table ping-pong. Their super-cheezy Tostaditos during the 1970s are impossible to duplicate. If you know how, please drop me a line!?

• TV Shows: Space 1999, Kolchak, Bionic Woman/ 6mil Man, Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew, Man from Atlantis, the Pheonix, Wonder Woman, Scooby Doo, M*A*S*H (c'mon. I lived in Toledo)
• Movies: Escape from Witch Mountain, Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang, CrowHaven Farm, Alien, The Dark Secret of Harvest Home, Carrie, the Omen, Star Wars, Salem's Lot

• Books: (forties) Wonder Woman Comics, The Grey King (series), Dorrie the Witch (series), Nancy Drew (series), asst. horror comics & books, Cracked Magazine, Mad Magazine
• Things to Do: Read. Draw, paint, etc. Write. Study bugs like the Cecropia Moth. Shoot hoops. Ride my bike to Otto's on Glenn and Secor and buy a comic book and candy. Roller Skate. Swim at the quarry we went camping at some summers. Explore the neighboring woods near Meadowvale School. Eat ice cream at Friendly's. MOVIES!! Pester my big brother until he punched me (took about a minute). Eventually, Space Invaders and Pac Man came along. Now there's a fun time-waster!
• Fantasies/daydreams: being rescued (from boredom) or being the rescuer, flying.

• Restaurant: eh, maybe Tops China in Morristown? No, the Mandarin House. No favorite Mexican restaurants in TN yet. Kinda miss Richmond's.

• Books: Norton Anthology of English Lit., Rules for Radicals by Saul Alinsky, When God was a Woman by Merlin Stone, The Witches of Eastwick by John Updike, William James "Will to Believe", Three Notebooks by Albert Camus, Immortality by Milan Kundera, lots on survival, indigenous plant species, & non-standard foods, whatever I'm writing. I'm leaving a lot out.
• Things to Do: Hang out with Lewis & the critters.
• Fantasies/daydreams: Mission accomplished! (not the show, silly. To have accomplished whatever I've set out to do.)
